2016 - Russian Missile Detection

Russia’s 2016 space-based early warning missile detection system consists of one satellite, a new generation “Tundra” satellite called Kosmos-2510. The satellite was launched near the end of 2015, with the Russian Defense Ministry announcing plans to follow up with another Tundra satellite in 2016, which did not happen. Russia intends to launch at least nine more missile detection satellites, some in Molniya and a few into geosynchronous orbit, by 2018.
