Lt Col Haley A. Homan is currently assigned as the Chief of the Environmental Monitoring Branch, at Headquarters Space Operations Command, Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado. She leads a 5-member team and oversees current and future operations of DoD’s space- and ground-based Space Domain Awareness & Environmental Monitoring assets. She advocates for resources and develops the operations requirements, strategies, and concepts necessary to successfully transition next-generation Space Domain Awareness & Environmental Monitoring capabilities from acquisitions to operations. Further, she represents Space Operations Command when coordinating with interagency partners within the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, and the National Science Foundation.
Lt Col Homan received her commission in 2006 through the Reserve Officer Training Corps at the University of Oklahoma and has served in a variety of weather positions in support of aviation operations, training and space operations. She is a 2014 graduate of the Air Force Institute of Technology where she earned a Master of Science Degree in Applied Physics. Following her graduation, she was assigned to the Air Force Weather Agency where she served as the Chief of Training. In 2015 she deployed as the sole weather advisor in Afghanistan as part of the Train, Advise, Assist Command-Air in support of Operation RESOLUTE SUPPORT. Prior to her current assignment, Lt Col Homan was the Director of Operations, 335th Training Squadron, Kessler Air Force Base, Mississippi.
