Chief Master Sergeant Amber B. Mitchell is the Chief, Air Force Enlisted Developmental Education, Headquarters United States Air Force, Pentagon, Washington D.C. Chief Mitchell formulates and executes Air Force strategic vision, plans, and policies for enlisted developmental education and advises Air Force senior leaders on policies, curricula, and resource issues impacting the professional development and education of over 259,000 Air Force active duty enlisted personnel. As the career field manager for Enlisted Professional Military Education (EPME), she develops policy and provides guidance for EPME program execution encompassing 78 resident schools, nine distance learning courses, and 642 faculty and staff educating over 55,000 students a year. Additionally, she acts as the Air Force liaison to the DoD, Joint Staff, Sister Services, and the Air Force Air Reserve Component regarding Air Force EPME and enlisted Joint PME (JPME) policy and curricula.

Chief Mitchell entered the Air Force in November 1997. She has held a variety of
positions as a space systems operator performing space lift, missile warning, and satellite
command and control missions. Additionally, Chief Mitchell has previously served as a
Noncommissioned Officer Academy Commandant and as Command Chief, Malmstrom AFB, Montana overseeing nearly 4,000 military members supporting a third of the United States’ Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile arsenal located over a 13,800 square-mile missile complex. She has been stationed in Alabama, Alaska, Colorado, Florida, Germany, and Montana.
