Alyssa Harris is a Senior Principal Systems Engineering Tech Lead in the Passive Sensor Payloads mission area for Northrop Grumman (NG) Remote Sensing Programs (RSP), Payload and Ground Systems Division (PGSD).
In this role Alyssa performs mission engineering analyses, develops RF payload architectures, writes Software Defined Radio (SDR) applications, and serves as the Open System Architecture (OSA) Lead on a cutting-edge program.
Each summer Alyssa leads a team of interns for the NG Enterprise Innovation Hub, Edge of Space Weather Balloon Challenge. During this 3 month effort, interns design, build, test, and launch new space payload concepts on a high-altitude balloon.
Alyssa began her 6-year career at Northop Grumman in antenna hardware engineering with a focus on Electronically Steerable Array (ESA) Integration & Test. Prior to joining Northrop Grumman, Alyssa worked for the Department of Defense, Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab, and JP Morgan Chase.
Alyssa has 1 patent, 1 NG New Technology Award, and has authored 3 publications. She is a 2020 graduate of the NG Architect Apprentice Program, and earned a BS in Electrical Engineering from Florida Atlantic University.
